As ever, our conference programme will address issues at the core of clinical practice in Neuropsychiatry and Behavioural Neurology, and showcase cutting edge research from around the world. The main symposia this year will focus on epilepsy, functional neurological disorders and global neuropsychiatry.
Speakers include Mike Kerr (epilepsy and intellectual disability); Alasdair Coles (religious experience and epilepsy); Jessica Eccles (hypermobility/POTs); Ingrid Hoeritzauer (functional urological symptoms); Dinesh Bhugra (neuropsychiatry in ethnic minority groups); Emily Holmes (treatment of PTSD amongst refugees, Facundo Manes (the huge burden of dementia in low and middle income countries) and Martha Farah (wealth, poverty and the brain).
Guest Lecture by Ed Bullmore (depression and brain inflammation) and the BNPA medal will be awarded to Karalyn Patterson (Cambridge) for her outstanding work on language disorders, especially semantic dementia. There will of course also be the excellent clinical research updates targeting key issues for everyday practice, and our conference will culminate in a highly-charged debate on the merits or otherwise of cognitive enhancement.
